   旧金山警探尼克奉命调查一宗离奇的冰锥杀人命案。被害人是一名生活糜烂的摇滚歌星，遇害前有人看到他和女友凯瑟琳一起回家。尼克来到凯瑟琳家中，才发现这个美貌女子原来是个双性恋。凯瑟琳还是个精明能干的畅销小说作家，她对尼克说她经常为了小说中的人物而与不同类型的男人上床，和摇滚歌星的交往也是出于这一目的。尼克很快发现凯瑟琳新书中的情节，就是在叙述摇滚歌星的被害过程，尼克基本断定凯瑟琳就是凶手。而同时还有两个美丽女人也有犯罪可能和犯罪动机，最可怕的是尼克居然被凯瑟琳狂野的激情所迷惑。就在尼克以为案情已明，与凯瑟琳在床上尽欢之时，床下是一把锋利的冰锥。
